Should we change the flag - writing

The prime minister of New Zealand thinks we need to change our flag but I don’t think we should. He has spent $26 million on this already and I thinks it is a waste of money.

If we changed our New Zealand flag, it would need updated every where in the world. People think that Australia and New Zealand’s flags are too much the same, but if we need to change a flag, why us? Why not Australia? It would cost millions of dollars to make changes to our flag.
Ous soldiers fought for the flag in the World Wars. Our soldiers went to war and they were proud to be New Zealander’s. This flag is an important symbol for our soldiers and they would not be very happy to have a new flag.

Our ancestors have lived with our flag. People who are older have lived with this flag all of their lives. It is part of our culture. The All Blacks have played for that flag. Olympic teams carry our flag proudly when they enter sports stadiums.

The current flag represents our place in the commonwealth. It is very special for New Zealand to a be a part of the commonwealth, and the union jack lets people know that we are a commonwealth country. Valerie Adams carried the flag at the last Commonwealth games, and it was a great honour. The Queen might be angry if we didn’t have the union jack on our flag anymore,

Changing our flag is a huge waste of $26 million. That money could be spent on schools and education. It could be spent on hospitals, making sure people got operations or it could be spent on getting people out of poverty.

We have a great flag that represents our country, our culture and our place in the commonwealth. It is a huge waste of money to change it and that money could be spent on better things. Our ancestors are proud of our flag and soldiers fought for this flag. We should definitely not change our flag.
