SURPRISE ATTACK

As soon as the bell rang I wanted to sprint into class and know what it was. The suspense was killing me.

When it was time Miss Taylor said put the blindfold on. I felt the nerves hit me. I started to shake. Then the thing was placed down, I was ready… When I smelt the object it was  really sweet and sour I wondered what it was going to be.

When I felt it I first thought it was a sour lolly.  I felt two really hard small bits I picked them out somehow, and put them on my desk I got slippery hands and dropped the object. wonder what it is I keeped saying in my head…

As soon as I tasted it I knew it wasn’t a sour gummy because it was really tangy and sour. It was really sticky and sweet. I had another bite but all of it was gone I started eating the skin and it was disgusting.

When we were finished people were screaming and shouting. I wanted to wash my mouth out at the end because of the sweetness so I did. Then I put the lemon skin in the rubbish.

Inquiry project

This term we have been studying real life superheroes.  We got to chose our own real life superhero to research and had to came up with three questions to research about them. Then we presented them to our parents and classmates.

Over the past four weeks Room 7 have been learning how to write effective metaphors. A metaphor is a direct comparison to an object/thing. 

We made a metaphor poem about the classroom, then we got to write our own poem. It was really fun what we did. We had to describe ourselves as a lolly, tree, vehicle, something from our community, sandwich and a piece of clothing.

Earthquake!

CHAPTER 1

I’m in my house watching 'Wipeout' on TV. Suddenly I feel a very big shake. The TV falls to the ground.

”Earthquake!” I shout as I dive under the table.  I see complete darkness. Suddenly I feel a soft, wet thing on my ear. I look up to see my dog licking my ear. Suddenly the table tips sideways as Rex jumps to the window. I go to the window, as I hear a crackling noise, I open the window to find...

Chapter 2

..."A PETROL CAN is ON FIRE!!” I yell, rushing away from the window.

"Logan!’’ I shout, "Stay away from the window," but I leave the window open and the fire spreads onto the curtains!! I reach for the door; shut! There is a pile of rocks blocking the door. I reach for the window; shut! We’re stuck in our house so the emergency helicopter can’t see us!! And our house is on Fire!   

Chapter 3

I start to think about how to get out then I get it...we can push the door to move the rocks. I call Logan and tell him to push. We push and push until I hear a rock smash to the ground. The hinges come off the door and suddenly the door falls backwards. Rocks tumble inside,

‘It was lucky I didn’t walk forward,’ I think to myself. I run outside and wave my arms around and The helicopter sees me!

It lands and we get in. The nurse in the helicopter has a look at Logan’s leg, (because he says it hurts), it turns out it is broken.

The helicopter drops us off in Christchurch and we stay there for the rest of our lives.
